 Moose Harvester Checkpoints - KMKNO

Mi’kmaq harvesters have been requesting checkpoints in the Cape Breton Highlands and we have listened and taken this request very seriously. 

Starting this year, checkpoint stations will be set up at Hunter’s Mountain and Wreck Cove and will be there throughout the harvesting season, operated by both Mi’kmaq and Lands & Forestry representatives.

Millbrook First Nation is seeking a Director of Educational Services. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate would be required to work 32 hours per week. This position operates under the direct supervision of the Millbrook Band Administrator. The Educational Services Director will coordinate and supervise the Millbrook Education staff within the provincial school system as well as the Millbrook Early Education Centre.

You Are Invited to a Community Meeting with the Whale Sanctuary Project 

The Whale Sanctuary Project is holding a meeting for the Millbrook First Nation community to discuss its proposal for a permanent seaside sanctuary for beluga whales retired from entertainment parks. 

At the meeting sanctuary leaders Lori Marino, President, and Charles Vinick, Executive Director, will offer their vision for the sanctuary, discuss potential benefits to the community, and address your questions and comments.
